Just before I entered a bigtime interview with Steve Hafner, CEO and Co-Founder of Kayak (that episode will be coming soon) I went into the bathroom, splashed some water on my face, threw away my notes and went into the interview as ME. The interview was one of the best of my life...Steve felt it and commented on it...and the act was like a revelation: that sooner or later I needed to bet on my authenticity and creativity.

Having attended business conferences for 10+ years, I thought I knew what a good experience felt like. But taking the boat to Africa, learning arabic, meeting a Kenyan-born Ai workers rights whistleblower and a Persian nuclear disarmament specialist, and feeling the energy of "experience design" that comprised the House of Beautiful Business event completely blew my mind.
Dreaming up a new kind of event in Costa Rica
I returned back from Morocco to my real world and started having visions for what a more powerful, visionary, passionate, and values-driven business retreat might look like. I approached the creative leadership consultants/advisors I've been using now for 2+ years about participating, the Imiloa Institute appeared seemingly out of thin air, and in taking a risk on myself and my own creative leadership...and I'm inviting you to do the same!
